Insight Meditation

with Roseann Pollack

Wednesdays, Nov. 7-Dec. 19, 5:45 pm - 6:45 pm

Insight Meditation is "clear seeing" into the true nature of reality. Developing concentration and mindfulness, we acquire the ability to see deeply into the truth of our experience without judgments, projections, or distortions. As the hold of negativity is weakened, we begin to cultivate a peacefulness of mind and openness of heart. The willingness to be present without clinging to what is pleasant nor avoiding that which is unpleasant is the foundation of freedom from suffering. Over time the fruits of the practice are many and include loving-kindess, compassion, wisdom, and equanimity.

Cost is a donation (not included in membership pricing).

Gentle Somatic Yoga:
Awaken the Possible
with Patty Bartoldus
January 5, 11:45 am - 1:15 pm

Gentle Somatic Yoga (GSY) incorporates slow, mindful movements that amplify body awareness. This allows the student to self-correct and permanently release persistent stress-based patterns from within their body (Soma). The restorative sequences, called Somatic Movement Flows®, are ideal for unwinding stiffness, pain, and postural imbalances and will dramatically increase flexibility through brain-to-muscle re-education. From this place of newfound freedom, we naturally return to our generative state of peace and wellbeing. GSY has been synthesized by Integrative Therapist and Yoga Teacher James Knight, E-RYT, CHSE. His progressive method is the synergy of Hanna Somatic Education, Hatha yoga, meditation, and Core Energetics, as well as principles ascribed to quantum mechanics. It was inspired from the work of Eleanor Criswell, Thomas Hanna, Moshe Feldenkrais, Lawrence Gold, John Pierrakos, Toni Petrinovich, as well as others.

Cost is $20 for members and $25 for non-members.
