Symbols of Nourishment
with Kim Crowder of Two Star Pony Studio
July 13, 12 pm - 3 pm

Nourishing one’s self is often perceived as a luxury in our fast-paced, immediate society; yet it is fundamental in simply being the best version of ourselves. Nourishment is gleaned in a variety of ways...from having a meal with loved ones to moving our bodies in empowering ways to spending time in nature to quiet meditation, etc. In this workshop you will create your own symbol of nourishment in the form of a sculptural spoon. We will build the armature, form the shape by applying the plaster and finish with embellishment of your choice to include such possibilities as gold leafing, ephemera, plaster carving, and paint. All supplies will be furnished; however feel free to bring whatever strikes your fancy to include, e.g. personal affirmations, poetry, photocopies of photos, etc. As mentioned we will be working with plaster so dress accordingly (the plaster washes out of clothing, but it can get a bit messy in the interim). This process was harvested (with permission) from the teachings of an amazing and sweet spirited artist, Stephanie Lee. Cost is $70 for members and $75 for non-members.

Restorative Breathwork for Healing

“Restorative Breathwork” was created by Kathleen Barratt of Barratt Breath Institute. This approach to conscious breathing is designed to dismantle poor breathing habits and restore the “innate breath”. This workshop will introduce you to the three breathing spaces, the innate breath, and help you determine where your edges are in breathing, leading you to a fuller and more healing way to breathe. If this first practice does not open these doors in one practice, you will leave relaxed, renewed, and calm at the end of the session. Please do not eat a heavy meal prior to this practice. Feel free to bring a light snack such as fruit or nuts if needed. Cost is $35 for members and $40 for non-members. Register by August 28th for $5 off - use online code: BREATHE19
